Ignorance is bliss for the bottom and ammunition for the elites
We smile biding our time while biting their bullets
Until gunpowder is the only taste our tongues can tolerate
Burdened with its inevitability since birth
After 18 years you’re offered as sacrifice by your parents to employers
Congratulations! The free market has found you.
Cubicles and coffee breaks. You’ll never excel, but you’ll learn Microsoft Excel.
And after all that, you’ll congregate with coworkers on the elevator at the end and wonder where the day went.
And then you’ll do it again,
and again,
and again,
Until one day, you’ll wonder where your life went.
It went to the shareholders.
You just never had the time to invest.

Great poem. Abe, you just turned 30. You have another decade before thinking like this. Hopefully you’re in Key West by then and it’ll be a moot point.
